New boiler installation
Boilers that are over ten years old waste a lot of valuable energy. Looking for cost efficient heating? You should be aware that current building regulations state that any replacement or new gas-fired boiler must be a condensing boiler. Older boilers convert as little as 60% of the fuel they use into heat which has a big impact on your home heating bills and the environment.
Depending on your heating and hot water demand there are different types of condensing boilers that are available, please contact us for any questions you might have regarding them.
What is a condensing boiler?
A condensing boiler makes more of the energy it runs on by using heat normally expelled through the flue. By converting over 90% of the fuel used (rather than just 60% in the case of some old boilers), a condensing boiler makes your fuel go further. Therefore, a condensing boiler can help to save you 30% on your fuel bills and reduce your carbon footprint.
What is a combi boiler?
Combi is short for 'combination'. It refers to the way this type of system serves as both a central heating boiler and a hot water heater. That means there's no need for a water tank as hot water is provided on demand. As well as saving the space normally taken up by a water tank (in the loft or airing cupboard), a combi boiler saves on hot water costs as well as giving you hot water at mains pressure.
What is a regular boiler?
This typically forms part of a conventional heating system, and is linked to a series of water tanks that feed the boiler and radiators. Storing hot water is key to this system, so unlike a combi, only a limited supply of hot water is immediately available. Space in the loft and airing cupboard is required for tanks.
What is a system boiler?
Like a regular system, this uses stored hot water. But because the water is pumped from the boiler straight to the radiators and hot water tank, it's a faster, more economical system. What's more, many of the components of the system are built in, making it easier, quicker and more affordable to install.
No matter what type of boiler your household has our team of experts can quickly diagnose and repair your boiler using quality components and parts, all work is covered with a 1 year parts and labour guarantee.
Annual boiler servicing is a wise precaution, we can ensure that your current system is operating to peak performance, ensure against carbon monoxide leaks and prolong its lifespan. Regular maintenance can also help prevent a system breakdown which can be expensive and never welcome. Regular servicing may also be required in order to keep up with the warranty requirements.
Central heating and repairs
If you have a temperamental heating system, have hot water in the header tank, if it makes noises, you have cold radiators, or need to continually bleed them then our experts can help. It doesn't necessarily mean a whole new system is required, there are many reasons for any central heating system to degrade and we will advise on the best way to get your heating back to its maximum potential quickly.
